Im new here! I've been keeping fish for about 14 years, I started when I was 14 years old. Now Im 28 years old and have no room for myself anymore, LOL. I also have 2 jack Russell’s named Rocky & Jack, they are sisters. They keep me going all day long. When they say Jacks are hyper that's putting it lightly, they are crazy! I also have 8 chinchillas so I pretty much own a zoo! Looks like a great board.

That's great, someone who keeps cichlids too I see. Welcome to the board and don't hessitate to tell us a little bit more about yourself.

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded: Serrasalmus Tetradon(figure eights and dwarfs are the exception). I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families: Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers. |

This board is perfect for me, LOL. I guess you all love animals too.
Life just wouldn't be the same without my animals. Hamm - What kind of dog do you have? Fishfirst- Do you have any pics of you dragon? I would love to see that! Do you clean all your 9 tanks in one day? LOL I used to but now that I have more it's getting to hard. I do the smaller tanks on day and the next day do the big tanks. |

no pics of my beardy yet... but no I don't clean every tank in one day. Usually I just do water changes in one day, but cleaning I do constantly with my mag floats, cleaning collection cups, gravel siphoning is done during water changes. Takes me about 3 hours to do water changes/gravel siphoning. Around 30 min to clean the glass with mag float.

I just ordered a mag float from Big Al's, does it work really good? That's a lot of work, do you do that every week? It takes me about that long if I do them all the same day, maybe a bit less.

I do water changes/gravel siphons every 2-3 weeks and on occasion 4 weeks. Mag floats work well in my tanks I have 1 for my 125, 1 for the rest of the sw tanks (to prevent cross contamination) and 1 for my freshwater tanks.
