Hey
Never really did a intro thread before.. I've been with saltwater for a couple years now and i'm wanting to get back into some freshwater stuff. I recently had pretty much all of my remaining freshwater fish from the old days die from a heater accident (it's cold here right now, so you see the problem). I'm hoping to get into killifish..i currently have one 20 gallon (which needs a hole fixed in it), and three empty 10 gallons. I also have a 55 gallon saltwater tank, which has very little in it..just a toby puffer, black mollie, coral banded shrimp, two hermit crabs, two big snails, and a watchmen goby. I'm 16 (as of yesterday) and i go to an online school called Laurel Springs, so i have alot of free time for fish. |

Welcome to FF.
Unless you have a really unique 20 gallon, it's probably going to be cheaper to just buy a new tank. You also wouldn't have to worry about the whole springing a leak.

Welcome,
Is the hole in the tank drilled for equipment? If so i have patched several tanks buy just going to the local glass company and getting a square piece big enough to cover the hole. then you just take a aquarium sealent and put the patch in place. It dosent matter if you put it on the outside or inside of the tank either will work. Let it cure and you are all done. Pretty simple. Now if the hole is a bit more complex like a leaky seal. Then it may be eaiser to pick up a different tank. |

Well it was my Bearded Dragons old tank (it had no water in it then don't worry)
It has a big hole in the bottom in th emiddle of the tank. I have no idea why there was one, but it looked drilled. I had to put tape over it then to keep his bedding from falling out. And now i've tried tons of sealent and glueing plasted over the hole at the bottom. I seem to be terrible at fixing leaks |

Tomorrow I will go through my old digital pictures and see if I can find one that I took of one of my tanks with a patch.

How big is the hole? Maybe it could be used as a down spout with a piece of PVC or some thing. Is it perfect round and what’s the measurement. Just curious.
I wonder why it was drilled.
