Let me introduce myself...
My screen name is "lohachata"..for one of my favorite fish..the lohachata loach..
but my actual name is john.i started in this hobby in the early 70's.in 1974 i set up Neptune Aquatics...i never actually opened a shop;but instead operated out of my home.
today i will be posting some of the products that i am currently offering for sale...more items will be added as i get them in and ready to sell..

so here is a list of products currently available.................................

PLECOCAINE

Plecocaine is a very high quality pelletized fish food designed for good growth and health..it is available in 4 sizes..

size #01...a powder for larger newborn fry such as livebeares and many cichlids..

size #02....a granule for young juveniles and small fish and fish with small mouths.

size #03...a small pellet about 1/32" for medium sized fish..

size #04...a medium sized pellet about 1/16" for medium to large fish..

size #05...a slightly larger pellet about 3/32" also for medium to large fish...this food has combined floating and sinking pellets...great for cichlids too....



minimum order is 1 pound ; but can be 1/2 pound of 2 different sizes...

PLEASE NOTE................as of 12/01/2012 the price of Plecocaine has been increased to $6.00 per pound.this is the first price increase in almost 10 years.in that time my cost has more than doubled..i have tried to keep the cost as reasonable as possible...Thank you for your understanding and patronage...

for right now Mega-Fry will only be available in limited quantities and only in 2 sizes due to cost restrictions and availability to me.
very high protein microencapsulated food for all sizes of fry and small fishes.it will stay suspended in the water column for quite awhile mimicing the action of live baby brine shrimp..

also.........if a pound of food is more than you really need ; find a friend to go in on it with you...you can even put some of it in a good ziplock type freezer bag and toss it in the freezer..it will last a year or more in there..

What do you charge for shipping? I'm thinking I may want to try a pound of the plecocaine. I would be giving this to my smaller fish so I think maybe size 2 I live in Wisconsin zip 53037

I also wanted to ask if you had sample sizes of the other stuff. I have to feed my community fish 2 different foods because some tetras won't eat the "tetra min" but will eat "tetra color" but the plattys and guppies will only eat the tetra min I'd love to find something they will all eat. Please respond with recommendations.

shipping charges are relative to where you live in relation to cleveland ohio...although 1 pound of Plecocaine will cost $6.00 to ship anywhere in the US ; if you live fairly close ; say within a few hundred miles i might be able to ship 3 or 4 lbs for just a buck or two more..it also depends on what size box i have to use.
Plecocaine is dense so i can use a flat rate envelope..i also use the regional rate boxes that are saving my customers a good amount of money...i recently shipped an "A" box to kentucky weighing almost 6 pounds...shipping was $6.00...
flakes foods take up more room and are more delicate...i can barely get 1 pound in an "A" box.....i do my best to keep shipping costs down ; but sometimes there isn't much i can do...
all fish need a well balanced varied diet...Plecocaine is a great food to add to your feeding rotation...but it is not the best to use as a staple....there really is no such thing as a single food for fish...or any other creature for that matter...
the guppy flake that i sell is great for all livebearers...and the earthworm flakes are great fr them as well...
when a customer buys Plecocaine from me i usually send out a couple of samples of the other sizes and maybe some algae wafers or some other food...i do not normally send samples of flakes because they are a bit hard to package.....they go into small bags and tend to get broken up a bit...but if you request a sample i'll do my best to accommodate...flakes foods are packaged in 4 oz. reclosable zipper bags.actually ; all of my foods come in the zipper bags...Plecocaine is sold in either 8 oz. or 1 lb. bags...
sticks and bytes come in 8 oz. bags.
i often carry some high grade specialized fry foods but i am presently out until i can get enough money to bring in more.....one of those foods costs me $165.00 a pound...i am also currently working on a new fry food caled "Mini Max Supreme"......the price will be $15.00 for 2 ozs....fry need maximum nutrition and this stuff has it... and 2 ozs. goes a long way....should feed a good number of spawns.....i already have 10 pounds of it sold to a number of breeders....

cory..you live in wisconsin..if you order 1 lb of Plecocaine and the samples i will ship it in either a legal flat rate envelope or an "A
" BOX.....shipping would be a maximum of $6.00....

Do you have a card reader? Or do you only work with PayPal? And whatever sample you would recomend for my fish would be great also.

they will all eat the #02 Plecocaine.....and they will all eat the guppy/livebearer flake..even the tetras...samples i would probably send would be some Plecocaine #01 in case you get any babies...and a few of the flake foods for you to try....maybe even all 7 of the different flakes..

ok..here is what to do...get a USPS money order for $10.00 and send it to me..i will PM you my address...in the mean time i will get your order ready to ship..
it would be a good idea to get a paypal account though...even though i have to pay to receive money ; it is well worth it...and for the most part your purchases are protected..i use my checking account to back up my paypal account rather than having to keep money in it for purchases..

I'll get the money order in the mail next week I'll be getting paid Monday, so it should be on its way to you on Tuesday. So not the 25th but I think the 2nd it will be out to you. I've sent my address and info to you do it can be ready in advance.

Also I used to have PayPal years ago for eBay shopping and somehow I lost 100$ threw it so I canceled it and have not gone back since. My mother has a online craft business and her coustemers use money orders or pre paid green dot cards from Walmart. A little bit of a hassle sometimes but I hate when I lose money.

just to let folks know....i just got in a slightly larger size of Plecocaine....

size #05 is now added to the list....it is slightly larger than the #04 and is about 3/32" diameter..this food has combined both floating and sinking pellets allowing for top feeders to eat without interfering with the mid and bottom feeders....
the price remains the same at $5.00 per pound plus shipping...

i do have larger sizes available to me but they are all floating pellets and would be mainly for fish that will take food from the surface...pellet sizes range from about 3/16" up to about 1/2" for them monsters....
i am not so sure how the market for these would be....i would have to get a number of requests for them to warrant investing that much money ...maybe later on in the year..

Your fish must be super happy with all that food you have for them! I was looking at the back of my fish food bottles and I have a huge one of flake that's only 1oz I'm thinking the 1lb I'm getting from you should last a few months lol.

On another topic, my mother is at my house today for our baby shower(having a girl in aug ) she was looking at my tanks and asked me how I afford to feed all the fish. I said I found this guy on a fish forum who sells large quantitys for pretty cheap. And that I'm going to start buying all my fish food from you. She was asking me why someone would make so much fish food. I replyed "I'm not sure I read he has like 70 tanks" she asked: where is this guy from?. I replyed "I think Kentucky" her reply "70 tanks and from the south? Is he single? Lol" she's also loves fish and has a 150g tank.

When I order the food from you she's going to try it and also said if her fish eat it she will also order!

Also have another one of my friends coming today who has a 100g tropical I'm going to recomend he comes on here to buy some food also.

It's so over priced here in Wisconsin, I brought the one ounce from the lfs and spend $13 on it, and most my fish won't eat it.

actually i live in cleveland ohio.....and i have an amazing fiance...i refer to her as my wife ; but we haven't had a chance to actually get married yet...beside ; i am really old and gimped up....lol...
the #02 Plecocaine is a granule and not a flake...but 1 pound will definitely last you a bit...as far as flake foods....you paid $13.00 for 1 oz...for that much you would get 1 pound from me...

something i suggest to a lot of customers to save on shipping costs....get a few friends together and buy a larger quantity...for instance....it costs $5.00 to ship 1 lb of Plecocaine anywhere in the US...say you lived in california...1lb plus shipping $10....
2 lbs plus shipping $20....and 4 or 5 lbs would be even more for shipping which is ok and normal...but you are paying $5. a pound or close to it just for shipping....but say you get a few pals to go in on it with you and you order about 12 lbs of the caine...i will pack it in a large flat rate box..shipping will be about $15...a little more tha $1.00 per lb for shipping....medium flat rate box is $11.00 and i can fit 6-7 lbs in one....
for those that live close like you..i calculated a "regional rate "A" box at just over 2 lbs.
shipping was $5.66..(weight is calculated at total package weight not contents)..
if you mom and friend want to order it would be cheaper for them to order together..

hmmmm...looks like i goofed up a little bit...lol...oh well....
