One Word: Croutons.
|
I'm not too familiar with others species of ctenopomas but Ctenopoma acutirostre would be a good addition. The others types i've seen (at least on the internet, get too small to be kept with delhezi's, etc. from what I know of.
My guess would be darkish, turbid water with large gravel/sand beds, a few pieces of driftwood, and small plant thickets at the ends. Personally, it's just a guess, but that's what I would highly suggest in a bichir/cteno/catfish tank. All three types of fish are somewhat "scared" of higher lighting, need the occasional hiding places, but also need to have an area to roam. Plant thickets are only added for the ctenopoma so it can get away and possibly "stalk" it's food. I don't know anything about blcokheads, so I can't help you on that one. As for catfish, the only two things I know of that originate in those areas are some species of synodontis and the giraffe cat (gc will outgrow your tank though). That's all I can think of right now, but I hope it helps!

Something different and anti-social (sounds like me
This "Blockhead" was it mislabeld "Buffalohead"? Anyhow, the tank seems kind a small 4 foot tank (what's that like a 55 gallons? I suppose you could house a small African Lungfish (you mention mostly fish from Africa) for a while. If you tell us (J55) what kind a rocks and gravel you're going with it might make this little easier.
