Default Sengal Bichir life expectancy?

Was wondering if anyone had some info on this. Also curious to know the longest anyone of you sengal owners have kept one of these. Have had mine about a 1yr and half know and it's doing great... just wondering about a ball park figure if he continues to thrive.

The expected life expectancy of any bichir is more than 40 years, with these fish, it's not surprising in the least.

The longest i've kept one is about 3 years, two senegals, but of course the fungal infection in the tank had to wipe them out... over the years i've had multiple individuals.

Wow!... thats great . Didn't imagine in my wildests dreams they could live that long... Most impressive.
So other than the fungal infection that took 2 of yours. What was the cause of the demise of the others you've owned?
btw could direct to some good info sites on the senegals.

One just died, others were given away. After that, one ate a puffer and choked on it, and to this day about 2 of the other ones are still alive. All given away at a small size.

Primitivefish.com, and I think polypterus.com or something.. some site out there just for bichirs.
