SA = South American angels, corys, sa/ca rams, discus, plecos, you could do tetras, but I don't think that's a good idea with mature angels, hatchets, but you only asked about odd balls. You could do an elephant nose as well. It's not SA, but it works with the water. I keep clown loaches in my otherwise SA tank.

i wouldn't keep a knifefish and elephantnose together since they both hav electric organs that would interfere with each other. this could lead to fish death.

parrotfish are saltwater. but if your talking ed parrot cichlids, they really aren't that oddballish. i think putting some in a 110 would be kinda overkill. if i had a 110 and wanted oddballs, i would want big fish. some bichirs, deff. angels, either a knife or an elephant nose, an eel or two, etc.

Yeh a black ghost knife will go well with angels, just aslong as their adults.

Is this a 48"x18" x 30" tank ?
If so - stock it as if it were a common 75g tank in terms of bioload -- its has the same surface area, and will therefore handle the same oxygen levels as a 75g tank. However - the extreme height does mean you can do some neat tricks, layering the ecosystem - ie you can have some cool surface dwelling fishes (maybe african butterflyfishes) while also having some cool lower level fishes, with a large open area in between. Just be prepared - you will need a stepstool to reach anything inside the tank (usually with long tongs as well) as well as an acceptance of wet sleeves and armpits. I'm 6'3" with long arms and I used to hate working on 110's (some idiot bought some for store tanks "at discount" ) - I couldn't reach the bottom even after climbing a stool so my armpit was at rim level. They were the worst tanks to vac and always looked dim unless we used a ton of lights. The only thing I like them for now are deepwater biotope tanks (with a faux rock wall along the back and actinic lighting) Of course, if its a different set of dimensions, ignore me. |
