Buffering water for stingrays

Fun topic eh?

With using a RO/DI Unit to produce water, what type of buffers would i want to be using to bring water to balance? Better to mix with tap water, or to use a chemical that will automatically buffer to nuetral PH and add trace elements?

I don't have a reccomendation for buffers, I am pretty sure stingrays like harder water though. And about 7.3-8 pH's. Im not 100% on this but here's a good source for stingrays. I found this very useful when i was thinking about getting one. http://www.geocities.com/heartland/m.../5590/ray.html

No, freshwater stingrays require more acidic water.

They come from blackwater and other acidic areas in the Amazon.

Unless your water has a major problem i wouldn't mess with it. Stingrays don't like changes in the water so if your buffering every water change you will need to make sure its exact every time. My water is 7.3 and quite hard and haven't had any problems as long as you aclimate them correctly.
