Grosshoppers, insects, small pellets, small fish that stay near the top.

Ok good I'll have to stop by Petland tomorrow after work and get some. Also I have a Crawfish in my 1 gallon (its temporary) and I had put a ghost shrimp in there for it to eat but it hasn't. What should I do to get it to eat?

Just pellets or waffers will be fine. Feed it a pellet every 2 to 3 days.

One Word: Croutons.

Grasshoppers contain chemicals that could potentially harm fish if fed too often, along with beetles, moths, spiders, etc. If you were to feed insects as a snack, stick with the simple store bought crickets (and not the wild black ones).
All you really need, would be some larger flake food, freeze-dried krill, bloodworms, and pellets. I used to feed them feeder fish also- euthanize the fish (rosey red, etc.) and dangle it at the top of the water, and it might go after it. You should be feeding it around twice a day, in small amounts. Not a pellet every 3 days xD.

I have only fed him crickets that I got from the store. I feed him twice a day, once in the morning and once at night when i get home from work. If the cricket isn't a large one then I feed him two small ones to make up for it.
