About 2 weeks ago my friend bought 2 gsp's. He put them in his community tank. He has been feeding his tank flake foods the whole time since he got them. I read up on them just now and it says in many places they don't eat flake food. (oddball puffers? I have seen these eat the flakes). Well the big problem is that they are nipping all the other fish in the tank. Seems they killed a big molly. From what I read I'm thinking there can't be any other fish in the tank with these guys. I do have a 10 gallon I can set up for them I guess.. Will this be fine or should i just bring them back?
Found lots of info on here so far. Think I will have to go beat my friend down |

I'd suggest taking them back, if you can. They really should be in a species tank or with similar fish. They won't do well in a 10g either, imo.
Good luck |

They should be brought back. A single green spotted puffer needs a 30 gallon brackish tank, marine as an adult. They do not do well with tankmates or each other.

I read puffer and community tank as I scrolled over and had to come in and see what was going on.
Puffers are by far the least compatible community tankmates. The LFS here has some TINY puffers (forgot the type) but they have written in grease pencil across the front "I may be cute but I can be very mean towards anyone but my own kind. I should be kept with one or two of my fellow tankmates and thats it".....

I think they could do just fine in the 10g tank, but yes, they would need to be nearly solitary. I think they might need a little salt in their water, too. They usually do eat worms, but that's just great if you can get them to eat flakes.
