Needlenose Gars

I'm not planning on getting any, even if I can find some, but I was just curious on these guys for a while now actually. Has anyone kept them/keep them and what information do you have on them?

i own one and, while I'm no expert, i have learned a bit.
They grow to around 12" in length, and are strictly piscivores (eat fish). Not to sure on the water parameters, but they do thrive around 7 from my experience. An important note is that they are skilled jumpers and are surface fish, so provide plant cover and a secure lid to keep them happy and in the tank. Another important note: they STRONGLY dislike fast moving water. They are found in slow to motionless water, and while its fie if they're is a bit of a current in part of your tank, keep it slow and off the surface. that's about all I know off the top of my head.
