They are tiny, maybe 2" male, 1" female, and neat looking. They like small live food, such as microworms, but they will eat flake and live blackworms, frozen bloodworms. Peaceful for a killie, pairs or trios can be kept in a very small tank, but you do need to keep the water clean. Great for the nano-planted tank. They aren't going to croak in 1 year, despite the name, but they aren't long-lived either. Never seen in stores, you need an aquarium society, or kille club. They are on aquabid. http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/aucti...ish&1313988009

The Raleigh Aquarium Society's next Carolina Aquarium Auction for 2011 will be held on September 25th, 2011 at the NC State Fairgrounds (1025 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607) at the Governor James G. Martin Building. Doors open at 8:30am, and open to the public.

I just came across them at http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...92&pcatid=1592 when I was looking for killifish. Aquabid seems cheaper though.

There's at least one breeder in the AAAA. Do you ever get to Atlanta?

I have had these before. Didn't last long because they were so small. They just disappeared. I'm guessing eaten or sucked in the filter. I've found one stuck in the slots of my filter. Got them at my lfs. Don't think they are good for large tanks though. I would keep in a nano tank like emc7 said.

Well someone got to them before we could :/ and our LFS can't get them so we're just going to wait to get them. At some point i'll have some though and i'll just have a species only tank for them.

Bummer, hopefully they will get more soon. Too bad you don't live closer. The lfs near me almost always has them.

I kept a pair in a 5 gallon until a bigger kilie jumped in from a neighboring tank and killed the male. My planted tank geek friends have them in a bigger tank, but all the fish in it are small (pygmy killes, rasboras).
