Question Eels and Cichlids ?

I am soon making an african cichlid tank out of my 40gallon tank, i will have 10-12 cichlids and wanted something else, would it be possible to keep one larger eel in that tank? not a peacock, something bigger? if not anything else like that that will go with the cichlids?

the next size up be a tire track or fire eel, and both get too large for a 40 gallon

you also have another thread going about plecos a ropesnake and bichir, what do you want to do here? I would go with your cichlids and bushynose or rubberlip pleco and leave it at that

Another option would be research a bit- there are a wide variety or African eels from the same lakes as the cichlids, and they don't get very big. I have one that maxes out at about 10 inches, but he's no thicker than a pencil.
( I've recently delved into aquabids.com- and I know for a fact there are a few eels listed there, which you might consider looking at, just for information sake)
