Not much. better eyes, they just act differently. they belong to the notopteridae family, none of which have electrical currents, like the clown knife.

Mine got eaten yesterday by my snakehead. Not again.
Lets hope the same thing that happened to the sucking loach happens to my knifefish.

I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families:

LOL. He looks like an african but with a dorsal fin, maybe an asian or something. I used to know all the names.

Though, I can't find the reason for risks of mixing either the fish...

How big is your knife fish? What kind of knife is it? I've got a black ghost, an African brown, and a clown knife in a 60 together right now. My gar was substancially bigger than my clown when I got him, but nobody made any attemps to snack on anyone else. When they get bigger I'll have to separate them, but for now my "aggressive tank" is pretty laid back.

Black ghost knife fish get 20 inches, clown knives get much larger. clowns have been known to kick the crap out of other agressive fish so watch out for that.

haha, mine's just a little guy. I won't have to worry about him for a while, but I have plans for him to be in a solitary tank when he starts outweighing his buddies.
