he was sold to me as a leaf fish and he does resemble them in shape, but his patterns don't. I am thinking because he is still small, that he may be a juvenile, but I haven't ever seen juvenile leaf fish like him either.Does anyone have any idea what exactly he is? (sorry the picture isn't great)

Nice fish, I noticed your water is slightly green, it can be easily cured. Read the recently posted topic in the general section to hear more.

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded: Serrasalmus Tetradon(figure eights and dwarfs are the exception). I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families: Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers. |

he's in a 15 right now. there's an even smaller one in there with him. their tanksmates are 2 crabs and 2 large ghost shrimp (full grown- i guess that's why nobody's eaten them)
do you have any of the perch? what is best to feed them?

Hi- I've kept leopard ctenopomas for years- they will eat your shrimp, eventually. I guess they must be pretty small right now. Mine have had slightly different personalities; the first one(lived 10 years) while it would eat anything and everything that fit in it's mouth, it was fairly peaceful. My latest is pretty territorial and often flares up and threatens my gold severum, which is around the same size currently, about 2-3 inches diameter. They get decent size, so a 15 might end up being too small for an adult, but it should be fine for a while. I have kept them with much larger semi-aggressive fish such as severums, polypterus, geophagus, etc, and they do fine. I'm sure you could keep it with any decent size gourami or angelfish, anything that is not small enough to be eaten, and not extremely aggressive.

yea, unfortunately i am not into gouramis. i think i may be the only person on the planet, but i think they're lame. i've got a 60G at home that they can retire to once they get bigger, so i'm not too worried about the size. do you know how to sex them? i read that the females have a larger girth, but i can't tell if my fish are looking puffy because of how much they eat. do you have any pictures of yours?
if any1 has any pictures of their spotteds, please post them ESPECIALLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT GENER THEY ARE!!!!!
