Default Apistogramma "pebas"

Scientific name: Apistogramma "pebas"

Common name: same as above

Size: 2-3 inches

Not too aggressive when not breeding.

Distribution: Amazon River, the exact location i forgot where.

Difficulty: i would say it is not that hard to keep as long as they have right water condition. i would say a little harder than easy on this

Tank: 10 gallon is good for a pair.

Feeding: They usually eat everything. i don't really know what they eat exactly in wild but i give them all kind of food and they seems to do well.

Activity level: once they get used to the environment they will be more active. if not, they hide all the time

Tankmates: i would say small tetras and pencilfish will make good tank mate. basically other small soft water fish is a good choice.

Breeding: To spawn these fishes are not really hard as long as they have right condition. The female will choose a spawning spot and will lay the egg on the top of the cave upside down. The fries hatch in few days (i forgot exactly when) and can take baby brine shrimp.

Maintenance: As long as keeping up with water change and you should do ok with them

Water conditions: clean, soft and acidic water is good for them.

i got those guys at a LFS. i went in and buy them with my store credit. i keep them just like other soft water fish and they spawn a few times. i got pretty much nothing to do so i just wrote this... hope this help.
