Common name- Upside down catfish
Scientific Name- Synodontis nigriventris
Native geographical area- Africa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Native habitat- Slow flowing waters
Maximum Size- 4-6 inches
Minimum Aquarium Size- 40 Gallons
Natural & captive Diet- Insectivorous. Bloodworms, pellets, flake food, brine shrimp, beef heart, glass worms and mosquito larvae.
Tank zone- Middle to upper
Temperament & compatibility- A peaceful schooling fish.

Optimal hardness-
pH range- 6.5 - 7.5
Optimal ph-
Temperature range- 75
Optimal temperature-
Salinity range-
Optimal salinity-
Photoperiod-
Seasonal changes critical?
Notable sensitivites- AS with other fish try to keep the temperature stable.
Hardiness & Lifespan-
Physical description- Dark brown with light brown spots.
Activity peak- Crepuscular is kept in groups, without a group they will be nocturnal.
Habits- Likes to hide so you should provide them with plenty of plants and caves for cover.
Spawning notes-
Other notes- There are many other Synodontis catfish that swim upside down or on its side, but Synodontis nigriventris are the only species that is truly an upside down catfish
