Name: Needlenose fish, needle nose gar, freshwater garfish, Needlenose fish is the right name as they are not gars at all.

I may have missed it, but make sure you mention to have the tank tightly covered to prevent jumping

Oh and by the way, which group should I put them in... since they are from the family belonidae, they don't really fit with the gars, and they don't really fit with any of the other groups... they are part of the half beaks and needlefish group which probably should be in misc.
What do you guys think?

Well, I was told they were a characin. THey may have to be put in the misc. section though.

nope not charcarins, they are from the order Beloniformes while charcariformies are quite different. Althought they don't have any dorsal or ventral spines like charcarins, they probably should be put in misc
