Default 75g upgrade, lighting suggestions

What would you suggest for lighting? I'm going to step it up to a 75g tank, the 29g has 175w MH on it, varies maybe one degree (the fans are freakin awesome).

So i was thinking 400wx2? or 250x3? You know me am a SPS hater, love me some LPS and softies.

O reason for the upgrade, after realizing how much $$$ worth of corals i purchased, realized the 29g doesnt really have a base anymore and plus i need to FRAG corals!

With a 75G being somewhat shallow compared to a 90G, 2X250W would be plenty if using Mogul based. 150W HQI's would be just as nice. 3 bulbs are not needed on a 48" tank.

I'm interested in this as well as I just got a complete 80 gallon setup - lights for $200.00 delivered May change out the crushed coral for sand though.

if your not keeping sps, you should be just fine with the 250x2, your trying to melt your whole house?? just get t5's so you dont destroy your powerbill, or wire 1000 led's together.

I just came across an Icecap 660 with endcaps and used bulbs (440 watts total) retrofit for $100.00. Sound like a deal? I realize I will have to enclose the fitting in my hood/canopy.

He says the bulbs have been used for a long time and reccommended I replace them. I will get the system. He runs the local reef forum and has a very good rep. he said he would also help me set up my new tank and point me in the right direction for liverock. 150lbs will cost a pretty penny.

Yeah I got a reef and a cichlid bug!!! Being a lot more cautios about the reef bug though. Dont want it getting sick and killing everything I put in the tank with it!!!. I'm thinking 3 months before I start stocking it. Give the lr (and cure rock a chance to dieoff and strat growing again).
