I have a 55g reef with a few corals on one side of the tank(only one has connected to the rock). I was thinking about trying a bulb anemone. I know they move a lot so ill put it on the other side of the tank and move all of the corals to the other untill it finds a permanant spot. Do you think t-5's give enough light for one? If not are there any other anemones you recomend? (I have a 2 clownfish)

i read the other posts about how anemones arent good to keep...
but i know it helps if there is a clownfish and i would take good care of it... i dont really understand why they would die so easily in a tank. i mean there has to be some kind of an explanation!

Lighting usually isn't a problem for BTAs. Water quality is. T5 lighting is more than enough for BTAs.

I stay away from anemones because they can be tough to take care of from what i read. Your clowns really don't need an anemone. Clowns tend to host many different things. A fellow reefers tank clowns host her anthelia. From what i hear your tank is overstocked with fish. Why not sell some of your fish and add more coral to your tank. I believe it is coral that seperates our saltwater from the freshwater. Coral adds color, movement, and just another talking point when guest come over to your house to visit.

there is much more than coral that separates the saltwater and freshwater worlds
I do not know too much where the longevity is concerned, but I have had my BTA for a short time now and it has been hosted by my pair of clarks the entire time. I also have PCs. So far it looks to be fine, it hasn't moved much at all, it eats fine, oh...and there is an anemone crab living in it too. SO although my time with one is limited, I would say not to worry about the lighting with your T-5s, just make sure you stay on top of ur water quality |
