Default I need an ID please....Also, New BTA

Check out the incredible color on this BTA that came with my 120G Reef. It's stunning! And it is not dyed! I sold it to him about 6 months ago and I know where it came from. I love it. Here he is:

And I need some help figuring out what these are. These are growing on a large peice of Live Rock and resemble a BTA but then again don't. It's not aiptasia or Majano's......What is it? Any ideas welcomed. It's also not fan worms. These are bubble-like and not fan-like.

That is a beautiful RBTA. YOu dont find those looking like that often (I tried) and when you do they are a pretty penny. Great pic.

I have no idea what that is in the second pic. A better description might help. Does it move (relocate)?

They don't move. Just sit there and look pretty.

I'm still confused over what they might be. Still hoping for the answer.

Many less honest suppliers "dye" corals and anemones to make them more attractive. They usually survive long enough to not cause concern about the "dye" because they have such a poor survival rate in captivity anyway that nobody notices if one dies sooner than "normal".

I've seen them listed as "Rose Anemone" at one of the LFS. I always thought "RA"s were brownish in color. If it weren't for the "Bubbling tips" I'd say a Condylactis (but I suppose it could've sucked in air). It's a Condy with the bends (decompression sickness).

I went and looked that up and they look very much like those! I wonder if it's possible they came on the Live Rock. This was Premium fiji live rock, Not the cheaper fiji rock. I sold it to the guy I got the tank from 8 months ago. I know a bubble coral can't frag itself. At least I never heard of them doing that but these things sure look like them. There is a bubble coral in the tank.

Reefneck, i always thought you kept bubble corals before. In any case, do they let out tiny tentacles at night searching for food?

Yes, The do have sweepers that come out at night. And I have bubble corals in other tanks too. Not just this one.
