Has anyone done this deal of 12 frags for $99? Sounds like a great deal or has anyone made purchases from this site?

The only pack listed there that you could do would be the zoanthids. All the others contain Acros which are the most light depanding SPS corals. I would not try Acro's under T5's.

I have a friend in Maryland who said the snow was pretty bad. Is it still harsh?

I think you'd be fine having acros under 4 t5's as long as you have sufficient water movement and stable parameters. If your worried just keep them higher up in the tank. That does sound like a good deal , I don't know what the quality of the frags would be like though.

Like Reefneck said, acropora is the most light dependant SPS. Even with pristine water conditions it wont do well under 216 w T5. Montipora on the other hand will do great. I have some monti's under 260 watts PC and they do great. At first i had em lower in my tank for a while and they did fine. I just moved it up due to an unfortunate accident while i was away..

Yea I called the place and they told me not to order because of the weather.
I live in Kewanee, IL! Rockford is only like a hour and a half from here! I'll have to check that out. I really want to go to Dr.Foster & Smith's but i am going to be gone. Are there a lot of those coral swaps around? Yea I think that monti would be better. I heard that acro grows really slow(expecially under T-5's)and these are little frags. Would pocolipora or some other sps do fine?

I have to disagree, I still think you could get away with acros under 4 t5's. As I've said before not every acro needs a lot of light, anyone who has been diving would know that they can grow with a lot lot less light than most people think. Acros will grow slower though with less light.Monti's you should be able to do pretty easily.

ive seen acros do amazing under t5's, not sure of the wattage, but if you have individual reflectors, im willing to bet they would be ok just under the water surface.

Not with only 4 bulbs. That was my entire point. With enough bulbs T5HO's can support anything.
