Just as the title states. Can you put one in a reef and simply not stock any corals that they would nip at? If so, anybody know what kinds are their preferred diet, and what would be considered safe? If any?

well with flame angels its a hit and miss really, and same with coral beauty angels. Id have corals in there and see which ones it picks at then remove them. Heard good key to keeping them in reef is keep them well fed.

most of the dwarf angel are hit and miss, i had a cherub the devostated a blasto colony. the only way to know is to try it, its not a specific coral that they like, they just like to pick at some.

There is a specific TYPE they like. (Same for all othe dwarf Angels).
They prefer soft corals. If you have an SPS only tank then chances are you'll be fine. Otherwise, It's 50/50. Mine nipped a time or too. I sent him to time out and he has yet to do it again.

Time out is a trip to the sump where he/she has to listen to the roar of the Mag 9.5 return pump.

But the key to keep anything from eating something you dont want is to keep it well fed. But really it could be a matter of time untill it nips.
