I would get LR and LS. It will help with your water. You will have a cycle of course the key to a good SW tank is waiting tell the time is right. You can add coral and fish to that tank. I would add a filter just to help with cleaning the water. What kind of tank are you looking at. Of course I think the Biocube might be good for a first time reefer.

Start with the biggest tank you can afford for a beginner. 46G or 55G are two good starter tanks. Smaller tanks = more maintenence and monitoring. OF course - the best thing to do is read and research everything you need to know in SW keeping.

A good book I read before I started mine up was "The conscientious Marine Aquarist" by Robert M. Fenner. Gives you a ton of info and its easy to understand. Also tells you a lot about other fishes and things like that.

I bought a book that's pretty easy to read and understand without all the technical stuff to try to grasp. Saltwater Aquarium Models by John Tullock.
Here's the link of the book : http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...models&z=y&r=1 I also like The New Marine Aquarist by Micheal Palletta. Easy read as well, even includes a checklist in the book you can make copies of !! Book link : http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...90087524&itm=3 |
