Default Blue spotted red mushroom?

Well I bought a red mushroom ( That is what I was told) about 3 months ago. The other day ago I looked down on to the tank and noticed blue spots. I forgot to ask today at my LFS. But looked it up today on internet. Turned out to be true I forget name. But I need to know 2 things. I bought it as a red mushroom. Did it not show because it was a baby or is it always there. Also did I get riped off I payed $10 for it. Also it barely opens all my parms check out and water is good. The only thing I can think of is temp isnt good. My polyps open great no problems with them. Any help would be awesome!

is it in bright light? Mushrooms generally don't like intense lighting, try moving it in a partially shaded area of the tank or to the bottom of the tank

You will be surprised how much corals change color depending on the light used. Some mushrooms of mine in my 40 gallon tank (always trying to get rid of them) are more red with green stripes, but when i put those same mushrooms into my main display with mh they turned green with a dark green stripe.
