Default help?

i have a green anemone.I have had it for a long while now and it has been healthy and happy.but for the past 2 days something has been happening to it.it turns inside itself and there are green tips of its tentacles spread throughout the tank..what could be doing this to it?

well first of all it sounds as if you either treated the tank with copper, don't have enough lighting, or poor water conditions. Could we have a little history of the tank and your water parameters, as well as the tank specs.

nope.no copper in the water and have excellent water and lighting.the tank has been established for 3 years.all that lives in there are a yellow tang,marron striped clown,lawn mower ,and a yellow damsel..reef crabs ,pollups,mushrooms and a few different corals.they have all been in the tank since day one.but now all of the sudden the anemone is being hurt by something

could one of the corals be stinging it ?

or something might be secreteing toxins into the water that the anemone can't handle. How large is this tank, and how old are your lights/what kind of lighting do you have?

What kind of anemone is it, other than green?
Has it recently gotten a lot warmer in your house?
Any discoloration in any animals in the tank, including the anemone?

What kinds of corals do you have? Which ones are close to the anemone?

its a green long tentacle anemone..its not near any of the other corals,their up on the rocks the anemone is down on the sand.the tank is a 75 gallon .and i just replaced the bulbs in the lights ,i have a atinic blue light and a flourescent reef bulbs as well.and my house has central air so no, the temp, hasn't changed either.the color of every thing in the tank has remained bright and beautiful .i have a pumping zinnia ,ghonopora(spelling?)bubble coral and a few different mushrooms and pollups.oh and i have a frog spawn in there too.

how many watts are your bulbs and how many bulbs, if its flourescent, its usually not enough light for any anenome long term.

oldsalt why would that happen, i have my BLTA and soon i will have to replace lighting. What can i do to prevent this? The BLTA sits at the top of the tank too.
