It looks like nobody else can either, although I'm not sure why. It should work for everyone, as all of it's settings are correct and the same as for all the other sections.
This will take a long time to fix, as one misstep in that part of the software can crash the whole site.

I don't know if it has been said, but you can't reply to a thread either...

I think I might have found it. Try it now and report what happens.
Also check to see if anything different happened in the other non-Hatchery sections.
For that matter, how about a few more of you at random also try to make replies and make new threads in the Hatchery. If I'm right, I just found a major fundamental flaw in the base settings.

Okay. That's pretty much what I expected.
Sadly, that's not good news.
The problem seems to lie in the forum section permissions assigned to each member. Moderators can post, but others can't. That should be easy to fix, but the problem is that it's already fixed, or at least set to the correct configurations. The simplest solution would be to just get rid of the Hatchery.
I have an idea and will test it. It it works, then it's still no help, but at least I'll have it pinned down.

Well, my experiment was a success, and now BV77's problems are all fixed. He can chat and post in the Hatchery. Unfortunately, I can't do the same thing for everybody, and worse, I still can't fix the problem even now that I've found it. *sigh*
I don't know what I'm gonna do.

I must ask that you do explain, even though I won't be able to understand anything that you say... I'm intrigued.

Nothing to it. I just made BV77 a Moderator to see if his new permissions set would fix things, and it did. I can't just make everybody a Mod, though.
The thing is, while I suspected that it would work, I can't figure out exactly WHY. The permissions set isn't much different from that of a standard member, and of the differences I can see, none of them seem to have any more effect than the others.

Hmm. That's not fun. When I try to start a thread in it, it says an administrator must give me permission... Administrators? Were are you...?

Could I be a Moderator? I'm always on, I use above average spelling and grammar, and I have a good sense of manners and rudeness! (If that's a word.)
Just kidding... Sort of...
Is there a way to make EVERYONE a mod, limit the editing permissions, and then make a new higher class of "Moderators"? Mega-Mod?
