Default Aqualight T5

I was wondering if anyone used this type of light before to see if its any good. Ive been needing to get another fixture and i saw this one. It costs only 40 bucks so i wondered if this lamp is HO. If it isnt than its not worth it right?

It is NOT HO. And is not worth anything other than for a Fish Only tank.

Not true! They work great for planted tanks. Great spread vs. pc fixtures.

This may very well be true but this is in the "Saltwater" section so my opinion stands!

Does Odyssea make good lighting. I found a good deal on one at aquatraders.com. Has anyone bought anything from them? It has 2 65w bulbs so thats 130watts altogether. Would that be good enough lighting for a reef tank?

Jebo/Odyssea are complete junk! They are made in China, Have no warranty & are not UL listed meaning if it shorts out and burns down your house you are screwed. You can't sue them because they are not UL listed!

You can NOT be cheap in this hobby! If you want to do saltwater you have to be prepared to spend money. And alot of it.

I have used and liked.....Coralife Aqualight Pros, Current USA Orbit PC's, IceCap Retro kits, PFO kits, JBJ PC Fixtures.....Probably more I can't think of at the moment. All of those are good products.

I have one of the aqualight T5's thinking they were HOs and they aren't any good for salt except to make the colors of your fish stand out.

I have a fixture from aquatraders (4x65) and have never had a single problem with it. Been in use for over a year. There are better quality products out there (Icecap is the best IMO for saltwater), but for the money, they are not bad. From what I've read you may have to replace the fans and bulbs as they are not quality.
