Default Anyone fimiliar with the sea clone 100?

I purchased a sea clone 100 protien skimmer 2 days ago and it has been running since. it has not collected any foam like it says it should. the directions say you have to play with the air hose valve to get it to start working properly, how much air to water should be running into the main skimming chamber?

From what I've heard sea clones aren't the best skimmers you can get, although I've never tried or seen one myself as they don't sell them here. When you first start a skimmer though it doesn't just produce foam, it needs to be broken in. Give it a little longer, then you can start playing with air and what flow to give you the maximum amount of skimmage.

I have the largest seaclone model for my 30 gallon, and no, its not the best skimmer out there. I have to constantly adjust the thing until it works and it takes a few days for it to really kick in. If you start it up too quickly, it just collects water. Let it run for a half a day on just the current- then inject air into it... should help.

do you have you valve set sucking in alot of air so that the J skimming tube looks foamish or do you mainly water with some air bubbles?

When I start it up I let air in slowly. By the time it's fully running the whole tube is filled with small bubbles. I do this over an hour to two hour period.
