Well i have a hazy tank and i know its some kind of algae/bacteria/fungus because the glass gets these little white sacks growing on them if the glass goes uncleaned after a while, (they are not eggs) i did a massive 60% water change and upped the salinity and still nothing. I dont want to add chemicals to my water, its a hassle and i dont like it also i cant identify if its fungus, bacteria or what. Its not harming the fish one bit so i am not in a rush, i need to sit back and get a good solution going. I was thinking a UV sterilizer would work great! kill the stuff and use it on other tanks for the same and more! what do you think? Any experiences, brands to buy, where to get it? greatly appreciated! Your Pal, Corydora_Freak
Tank specs 55 Gallons 13 New Mexico Bluntnose Minnows 14 Corydoras Paleatus 5 Corydoras Trilinatus 5 Neon Tetras 2 Bloodfin Tetras 1 Dwarf Gourami 0 ppm Amm. 0 ppm Nitrite 5 ppm Nitrate

This is fine, as the saltwater guys are the techies of the bunch anyway.
A UV can probably solve your problems quite nicely. Try a "Turbo Twist" type model. Those do a good job of maximizing exposure time, and give you a lot of zap for the buck. |
