Default how long without a filter?

my filter broke(it's a cheap cascade 80) and my 10 galon is filterless. It contains 1 molly and 1 dwarf gourami. I'm going to feed them once a day to cut down on ammonia. I plan on getting a good penguin filter at my LFS or a chainstore within 1 or 2 days if i'm lucky. With regular water changes(1/4 every day/ 2 days) With they be okay?

they should be fine....but you should really keep up with those water changes...and u may go through a mini cycle since you don't have some of your bacteria colony anymore, which got thrown out with the filter...but they should be ok for a couple days

Just do a water change or two during the time it takes you to get the new filter and all should be just fine.

got a penguin 150 for a 10 gallon :P. It says for thirty gallons or less so i got it because it's for a tank i'm keeping to goldfish in until i get my pond and they're messy. I move the goldfish's old 10 gallon filter to my tropical tank because the penguin 150 was to powerful for the small tropical fish. The 150 is sssssoooooo loud!!!!!I'm thinking of turning it off when i go to sleep (i only sleep 6 hours) and plugging it in all day till i can buy some gallon jugs at genardes to raise the water level

I made it so the filter was a little bit quieter so i can leave it on all day. My tap has a ph of like 8.6 and is exertmly hard so i don't use it
