Default TOTM Rules-Please Read!

1) You must have a minimum of 10 posts. This is a new rule and may seem unfair to some. However, this rule is being implemented to ensure that those who enter the photo contests for this forum are indeed a part of this forum. That means you must contribute to the quality of the community by posting quality posts.

What makes one post more worthy than another? Well, anything helpful, lengthy, or informative will be considered for your post count. This means you can't get away with saying "Pretty fish! Great pics!" 10 times and qualify for the contest. This also prevents people from just joining the forum to be named the winner of our contests.

2) One entry per member. You can only submit one photo to me via PM per monthly contest. Please be sure that the photo you submit is the one you really want in the contest. I will not accept a secondary submission.

3) The photo you submit must be of your aquarium.

4) The photos submitted must have been taken by the person entering the contest.

5) Only the first 10 entries are accepted.

Other things to consider. Please don't vote for yourself or encourage voting for a particular entry. There is no problem with voicing your opinion of a photo, but keep conversation to a minimum in the voting thread until voting has ended.

Deadlines will vary from month to month.

How does it work? After receiving all 10 entries or reaching the submission deadline, I upload the photos to my Photobucket account. A record is kept of those who entered each photo as well as the anonymous copy that I upload to my photo account. Although most of our members know each other quite well, this prevents some bias in voting and allows for each photo to be received and handled in the same way for everyone.

Prizes Occassionally there will be a prize offered for this contest. If there is, the prize goes to the first place winner. In the case that the 1st place winner is unable to take the prize or decides to give it to someone else, the prize offer is defaulted to the 2nd and 3rd place photo submitters. If all three of these contestants are unable to take the prize or do not contact me within a reasonable amount of time, the prize is scrapped. Prizes come from and are paid for by me unless otherwise noted. If you would like to donate a prize to TOTM or one of our other contests, please contact me!

Thanks for reading
