Cool My two 10g and 5.5g!

Okay, figured I would start this thread. Somewhat in hopes of getting some advice, and 'casue my fishes want to be famous

I have two 10-gallons on an iron stand that holds both, and a 5.5-gallon on a bookshelf that held a ten-gallon at one point, and is really strong.

The tanks will be referred to as "Top tank", "bottom tank" and "5.5 tank"

Top tank:

It uses an AQ 20 filter, not sure what the heater is but it keeps the tank a nice constant temp, AGA black hood and currently has a divider.

This tank is decently planted (and should be further planted soon, when i start ferts!!!)

Popcorn (Vicious little Dwarf Puffer)
Chametz (Not as vicious, but still a snail killing Dwarf Puffer)
Lumos (Otto that lives on Chametz's side)
Inpervious (Otto that lives on Popcorn's side)

Bottom tank:

It uses a UG filter, but will be getting an AQ filter once I have the money, an AQ 100w heater, which is a bit overkill IMO, but it was 1/4 of the price of the other ones because it was on clearance! It has the same hood as the top tank, an AGA black 20" hood.

This tank is a science project and is a Venezuelan biotope (as near as I can get it!)

(And yes, they all have stargate names, except the snails!)
Steve, Bob and Daryl (Silver Hatchetfish)
Anubis and Apophis (Male Guppies)
Rodney and John (bronze cories, Rodney is albino)
Snel and Turbo (Apple snails, Snel is black, Turbo golden)

5.5g tank:

This is, as of now, unfiltered with frequent (4-5 times a week) 30%-50% water changes. Rora is fighting fin rot so I have melafix and salt in the tank.

Rora, short for Aurora Australis (Male CT betta)

Also 'in the works' is a tank my dad and I are planning to build, maybe. It would be larger then 29-gallons but smaller then 100-gallons. This tank will mostly be a tetra tank. The hatchetfish will probably move into it as well.

And onto pictures!!!

That's the top and bottom tank/

A: Chametz
B: Popcorn
C: Lumos and Impervious hangin' out at the algae wafer
D: John and Rodney. Rodney has no pectoral fins.
E: Anubis (yellow) and Apophis (pinkish)
F: The betta's tank, he's in the lower left part of the tank (you can't see him well)

That's all for now! Questions/comments are more then welcomed!

Okay, updates!

The ferts made the plants go 'boom'

Well, filters/heaters were moved around, now everyone has one.

I'm making a background for my 5.5g that will hide the filter and heater. It's being made out of styrofoam, and is going to be held together with silicone.

(Sorry for the bad pictures, our digital camera is really old, and zoom and focus are all out of whack. That and basement is 'dark' according to the camera)

Those pieces will eventfully be put together to make a 3-D craved background, where the filter and heater can hide

That is 'driftwood', and used to be the piece in the lower right corner of the above picture. The five small pieces that are in a row will be 'rocks'

It’s will be painted, with safe paints, so I don’t have a pick background:P

Your puffer pictures were great! Such cute little fish. The background is a good idea. Make sure you post a shot when you get it together in the tank. I'm anxious to see the final product!

I will be sure to show pictures. The basement is currently being rearranged so I haven't have a chance to work on it again, but I will soon (hopefully!)

And no, Styrofoam won't just the fish.

Tonight Chametz saw of her reflection, or something, and sorta puffed. It was so cute! I didn't get a picture, but her jaw was poofed. It was so cute!
