10 gallon bio-tope

I am finally doing it. I found a 10 gallon tank stand on the side of the raod a few weeks ago and i just so happen to have a 10 gallon in my garage with a bass and a cat fish in it. I am moving the tank into my room and stocking it with some white cloud mountain minnows and a male paradise fish. The bass and the catfish are going to a good home. A company cleaned our windows a few months ago and a guy saw my bass. He just so happens to have a bass that he raised from the size of mine (3 inches when i first got him, 5 inches now) and his is now 8 inches long. He said he would take my bass and cat when they needed a new home for when threy out grew their tank. they will spend the rest of their days happily in a deep pond specially made for his bass. I'll keep y'all updated on how they are doing. Any way...there are no live plants in the tank. All fake plants with a driftwood ornament. i'll get pics later.

quick up-date. The tank is doing wonderfully. I moved my white clouds into the tank and they are already simming around and investagating all the hidy-holes. I lost 2 of them with my knowledge in the newt tank tho so there are only 4 of them which is a benefit to me. I went to the lfs to buy some plants cause i was short some and the tank looked really bare. as some of you might have heard earlier, they got some bamboo shrimp in the latest order and i really like them. When i was there getting plants, i also picked up one of the two shrimp. I would get the other one but they are 5.99 each and I would like to add a few harlequin rasboras down the road so i do not want to waste bioload on them. i am going to pic up a paradise fish either this weekend or next. pics are still coming, i promise. my camera just has 600 pictures on it from my eagleproject and i need to get those photos downloades. that is tomarrow's job...lol

they made it though their first night in the tank and all is well. i was looking at one of my fish books last night in bed and relized that their are not amny fish that come from china. many more come from Tailand(duh). So....i am changing my fish list. the white clouds will be going back into my newt tank and i will then stock the tank with harlequin rasboras, a paradise fish, and some dwarf loaches. that should be my final fish list. my photos are currently downloading on my other computer so once those are done i will take pics of my tank and post them.

all of the paradise fish at the lfs had ich and didn't look good so i didn't buy them. i purchased 4 harlies and a pearl gourami instead. pics follow.
sorry about the bad gourami pic. he was in the tank for about 5 min before i took the pic so his colors aren't the best yet. all the fish started eating live blackworms, brine shrimp, and flakes within the first 3 min.

all the fish are doing fine. i cought the white clouds and moved them back into their old tank. it was very interesting tho. my white clouds and the harlies actually schooled together. the harlies abviously more closely than the white clouds but they still schooled together. my gourami has already, like a cichlid, come to recognise "me" with food and is always ion the front of the tank. he is a very in your face fish despite only being 2 inches long..lol

do y'all think i should add any more harlies? i would like to get either 1 more bamboo shrimp or some algae eating/cherry shrimp as well.

after my vacation, all the fish are still alive but i had a HORRIBLE algae infestation. hair algae, green spot, a thin sheet if green on the glass an a thin sheet of brown on the glass. i couldn't even see inside the tank. so i cleaned it all out and something happened to my horse faced loach and had a big open wound on his side so i put him in my 5 gallon with an air stone and some melefix but he died 2 days later... but the good news is my 2 kuhli loaches are doing wonderfully. i plan on getting more once some more of my fish die. as of now i have one black kuhli and one normal. very cool fish. i have been feeding all the rest of my fish color enhancing flakes and black worms and their color is just fantastic. i have never seen my harlies so red. they have also gotten bigger. my pearl gourami has grown larger as well and he literally sparkles in the light. hopefully i can get some good pics but the ones i have taken just don't do him justice. the shrimp are doing good as well. one is alot bigger than the other so i'm thinking i might have a pair. maybe i'll get eggs and leetle bamboo shrimp. prolly not but it is good for the soul not to give up on stuff. who am i kidding? there is no way i'm gonna get leetle shrimp unkless i go buy some. I'm still looking for cherry shrimp. if you have any you would like to sell to my e-mail me. my only other choice would be to order them from liveaquaria.com and i really don't want to spend $7.99 per shrimp plus S&H.
