well finaly the time has come when i just have to say"my 10 sucks! i want something different!"
so im copying JOM XD yup, thats right, im gonna redo my 10 into a multi tank. i have done my reasearch and i ahve knowledge fom before, so i guess this will be the journal of my 10.. |

tiny setback, but i cant find any pool stores in calgary
that means no pool filter sand. is there anywhere else you can buy pool filter sand? |

Maybe a hardware store? They may be getting that type of stuff out for sale this time of year....I don't know though, since its still cold up there. Worth a try!
It may be too late for the title change. Glad you are doing a 20g....they'll love the extra space. |

ya... if i cant find pool filter sand i will just use normal aquarium sand since ill have a sponge over my intake..
ya, so am i. it gives me more room for designing ect. and also it will mean i can have a bigger/better colony |

Is this going to be planted or just regular. I know I just bought 60Lbs of eco complete and gave me a 3in bed I like the look of it to. Well GL with the sand

May I sugest get all natural sand I think it is called you can find it at petsmarts. they have it in rough grain and smooth grain. regular color looking sand and white and black. come in 20Lbs bags and cost here roughly around 13 bucks.

Tahitian Moon Sand is black and would look nice with Multies. I think a 15lb bag is the way its sold here and that would be fine for a 20g Multi tank.
Multies don't need much sand at all....maybe a 1/2" layer, so you don't need a ton of sand (saves you money!). Shells are more important to them. |

ooo. black sounds smexy. the only reason i would have a thicker sandbed would be for aquascaping and/or if the multies wanted to dig...

Ya I love black sand lol. I think it makes the tank have a different character from gravel. But that is just me.

OK. big update.
so today i set it up. heres the specs(i still have to buy shells :P) substrate:beigeish whiteish sand filter:aquaclear 30 heater:150 watt marineland visi-therm stealth decor:fake jungle val? grey rocks, black backround pics in about a week (im letting it cycle right now...) |
