tiny setback, but i cant find any pool stores in calgary

that means no pool filter sand. is there anywhere else you can buy pool filter sand?

Maybe a hardware store? They may be getting that type of stuff out for sale this time of year....I don't know though, since its still cold up there. Worth a try!

It may be too late for the title change.

Glad you are doing a 20g....they'll love the extra space.

May I sugest get all natural sand I think it is called you can find it at petsmarts. they have it in rough grain and smooth grain. regular color looking sand and white and black. come in 20Lbs bags and cost here roughly around 13 bucks.

Tahitian Moon Sand is black and would look nice with Multies. I think a 15lb bag is the way its sold here and that would be fine for a 20g Multi tank.

Multies don't need much sand at all....maybe a 1/2" layer, so you don't need a ton of sand (saves you money!). Shells are more important to them.

ooo. black sounds smexy. the only reason i would have a thicker sandbed would be for aquascaping and/or if the multies wanted to dig...
