Has anyone ever had a negative experience with aquabid?

It happens sometimes, yes. be sure to check a seller's reputation before ordering anything. Most AB'ers are fantastic, but there are a small few bad apples in the bunch, too.

The e-bay & CL scammers do sometimes show up on AB. Be cautious with anything looks too good to be true, & don't send money western union. Scammers copy real ads, drop the prices, then take the money and run.
The other issues are mostly an expectation thing. Your idea of a small may be the seller's idea of medium. An total newbs to to selling can mess up shipping or take too long to do it.
But most of the mid-sized breeders are good and honest. They take good enough care of their fish to have fry and make just enough to bother with the hassle of shipping fish.
You may get smoother, swifter shipping from a big "online retailer", but you probably can get better specific info and less risk of disease from a hobby breeder. That is my first choice for fish I can't get locally. By the time you breed what live aquaria has in its listing, they will be in Petsmart and you won't be able so sell the fry.

I've only dealt with one person, Famikert. And my experience with him was excellent. I got my fish fine, even though I paid alot for overnight shipping to Alaska.

I have shopped on aquabid quite a few times and so far so good. I also check out the seller's feedback before buying and contact them if I have any questions about what they are selling. If they respond, I buy their item. Just to stay safe, I only pay with paypal when I shop online.
