Default A journal hack for the forums.

Take a look at this and let me know if you would like this installed in place of the journals now?

http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showt...hlight=journal

Let me know what you all think.

Although I don't have a journal yet, it looks good to me!

that would be nice... I think it would encourage more users to use the journals section and such...

I'm not a devloper, that given, it doesn't look bad. If there were a comparison on what's offered current to look at compared to the proposed that would be helpful. My take it what you have now is a modified/ristricted form of a thread. Proposed is a completely separate, yet integrated set of software.

You definately kick the site up a notch with integrated blogs that function as such. Then you have to question, if you upgrade, though your customer base is small how much will be on topic, how much off topic, and do you care? Perhaps, how much off topic storage and bandwidth are you willing to pay for, and how many man hours to police it?

I"m not sure but do you have doppel control of any sort?

Sorry, I think it's a great idea, and I"m all over it. I just think about these sorts of things.

Three years ago wasn't so long ago, Katie! Cut a guy some slack! After all, he probably went back dozens of pages to find this!

Just a random side note:

Vbulletin has a brand new blog hack out for 50 bucks. The administration can decide who has a blog and who doesn't. Random, but maybe helpful.

I'm sure it was supposed to be at the time to get people's attention.

Can we try being polite? I don't believe that this tone is necessary.

I'm tempted to just walk away from this forum some days.

I can understand why some members, mods, a lot of people here seem to have a short fuse with HTML. When he/she has contributed things like "..........", makes a group for HTML's friends, with himself as the only member, and makes threads wondering how many posts he/she has to make until the word under the username goes from "Member" to "Special" or "Guru".

More than one person has complained about him bringing up old threads. That's why others wonder why HTML doesn't bother to look at the date on threads. What's the point in having dates if no one does?

Some people allow a little less fuse than others and when being polite doesn't help, you have to wonder.

Even so, there are more tactful ways to handle a situation.

Things can be easily addressed via private messages and with potential consequences. The key word there is "private".

I frequently see mods on this site who are flat-out rude to members in the public forum. It sets a tone.

I come here to learn, to share, and to enjoy. Not to see who's being snippy today.
