Why would you throw away medication because your parents didn't ok it? What happens if your fish get ich? Do you just buy another ich medication with their consent because that seems like a waste of money to me.

haha agreed. My dad would get really angry and start wasting the fish in my tanks (by chucking them down the toilet bowl) if I did nt comply.
You are probably saying ohmygodsweetjesusinheaven by now, lol.

Today I went on a STUPID STUPID geog 'field trip' to the place were I got those gambusia (Bride's Pool) and managed to get a few pics. Because of the work we were doing, I did not bring anything home but played with a few cherry shrimp cradled in my hand.
Below are the pics, please enjoy!

Mira Waterfall, a darter and cherry shrimp haven. (In the pool below)

Ghost shrimp and gambusia found in there.

I think I saw a sunfish in there once

Endlers and gambusia... so much fry that the whole fish population there could not clean em up in a decade!

OMG the snails are eating everything! The shrimp are covering the stones! lol JK

Today I changed my 10gal layout.... pics soon.

'My' angelfish tank at school (which I dont think I have mentioned in this thread before) is getting pretty boring.. any suggestions of what I could add to that tank? A gourami? Its a 40gal the school owns with 3 marbled angels but I am supposed to be their aquatic biologist apparently. (I did not go and beg the school for this job, they asked me because they noticed I kept on borrowing books from their "fishes' section in the library....)

So. any suggestions?

Please feel free to post in my Journal!

Like the darter, the goby only accepts live worms.

Well its been a while since I was last on FF, too caught up with CNY celebrations.

I was lucky and was rewarded with another hiking trip. I caught a few juvenile specimens of Parazacco spilurus (not sure about common name) and a whole school of Nicholsicypris normalis which are quite new to me.This trip, I also discovered a sucker-bellied tadpole (?) and an introduced goldfish which is going to a new home.

I saw some Liniparhomaloptera disparis (lol im copying alot of scientific names from my handbook lately) and a Myer's stream loach.

I think if you look back on my previous entries, I noted finding minnow fry. They are actually Parazacco spilurus offspring.

Not much to state about my tanks.....

so thanks for browsing through my journal once again

My endler just gave birth. I will be feeding the fry colour enchancing flakes and lots of variation hopefully to culture better quality colours.

The fry have doubled in length.....

And suddenly the tank is a craze to keep on track!

Ammonia is 1!
Water chemistry changed from soft to neutral in two days!

WTH is happening?

the water is yellow. I suspect it is snail and crab discardings more than the fish.

Is the water chemistry change because i added a med that killed my snails and crabs and so consequntly the dissolvinh shells added to the pH?

I will do a 93% water change this instant....

changed everything except for wood and fish. All the plants and gravel, filter and heater found themselves thrown violently in the trash. I put the fish into my female betta tank for now.
