thanks I'll try and get my hands on them ASAP.

Today I went hiking and I landed some sorta livebearer...... looks like Gambusia Affinis, I will post some pics soon and try to identify them.

I also caught some shrimp that look like Cherry shrimp, as well as what seemed to be minnow fry which I later released.

Other bounty include ghost shrimp, a prawn and some Greater Pond Snails, which shouldnt occur in HK right?

I caught this 'loach thing'..... when I post piccys please
identify!

phew! I almost introduced some caddisfly larvae into my tank...

I spotted some sunfish swimming past, and something that looked like a pupfish..... maybe I'm physco.

I fish some endlers soon, so pics ahoy!

well I added three female gambusia into the tank, so far my betta ignores them. It looks like one of them is pregnant. I also added the loach thing, which I figured might be a darter. The ghost shrimp and the 'cherry shrimp' were added. I think the 'cherry shrimp' are just ghost shrimp fry. I also found some driftwood in the stream that I liked, so I soaked them overnight and added it this morning.

But arhhhhgggghh! The big piece floats! Anyone can teach me how to tie it succesfully to a stone please? Or can I find a tutorial in the DIY section?

I added one Greater Pond snail and left some in a pot with some lettuce, hopefully to breed so I can get my Figure eight puffers and set up a new tank. Are greater pond snails' shells still too hard of them?

I would appreciate tips in how to get the gambusia to eat anything except for worms

thanks for reading all my blabber!

You catch all this wild? You're so lucky, the smallest fish i can catch wild is a pumpkin seed sunfish(from what i know). Female gambusia are very territorial so watch them. You'll know if your loach is a darter if it never leaves the bottem, darters have no swim bladder, so they sink. Ghost shrimp fry are brackish. Your new Figure 8 (which if i remeber you can also capture wild, correct?) should eat the snails if they are very small unless they are super thick like MTS. I can't wait to see these fish and I'm really want to see if your endlers are pure strands or near pure.

fishboy I think they are near pure, only bits of coloring here and there but not aquarium standard definately. Can endlers cross with gambusia?

ok here goes:

I just realised that although gambusia are a plainly coloured fish, they look super in any aquarium.

Darter:

The jar with the fish, labeled unclearly gambusia, caddisfly and ghost shrimp.

AHHH! I AM TERRIBLY SORRY FOR THE STRESS YOU GUYS HAD TO UNDERTAKE IN THAT JAR!

here is a video of the 'darter' which is resting on a coconut cave.

no, I get scat fry wild, but I have spotted some GSPs and F8Ps but they are not easy to catch and I only caught them twice. Both of these occaisions were before I came to fishforums. So I had no fishforums to enquire, thus I let them go to avoid having them die off in my hands.

Living in HK is only lucky cos of the wild fish and cheap fish, otherwise not really so.

If you go to my post OMG READ THIS REPORT! you can see that I can find black paradise fish.

(I once saw what looked like bubblenests in the marshes, but I thought it was only the mostquitos driving my crazy.

Today I went to the FishStreet and got some plants and additions. Along with the driftwood and moss, it looks fab, possibly more than half as good as the tank in Simpte's avatar.

The inhabitants of the tank are:
1 Veiltail Cambodian Fighter (Male)
1 ghost shrimp
5 cherry shrimp
4 Either Aplocheilus panchax or Golden Killi
1 'loach thing'
6 juvenile peppered corydoras
3 mosquitofish, which look something like the Aphyosemion abacinum, or they could actually be.
1 singapore wood shrimp
6 MTS (at the moment, lol dont breed! dont breed!)
1 Greater Pond Snail

Ornaments, Rocks and Plants:
1 piece of rough marble
3 pieces of driftwood
2 Bits of moss
1 bunch of java moss
Err some plants I cant identify
A coconut cave

I noticed the killies batting each other with their tails, hard. Is this spawning/territorial/ get-out-of-my-sight behavior? I will get some Blind Cave tetras with eyes for dithers, the tank looks empty.
I will show a pic of the whole 10gal, will I need a C02 diffuser?

Today I got some endlers, but I forgot to bring my camera along. So sorry, only pics of the fish but no pics of their habitat. I think I saw some really big fish chase a few endlers and snap one up.

BUT HECK! after I introduced the endies into the tank, I said $h*t! I forgot to quarantine them! So I removed all the crustaceans and endlers, medicated the main tank and tucked my endlers safely away in the quarantine tank. I took no chances and put some sorta thick weeds in for the pregnant females to
'discharge their loads'. I think I also discovered something that looked like red nosed shrimp, maybe this is what they developed red nosed shrimp from? hope I can get good pics to post.

The crustaceans are now in a 2.5gal bowl with air pump.

to the t10gal in my room, foundation since 2003!

Because my cories caught popeye, I washed the substrate and cleansed the filter. I know I shouldnt have done, but I canged half my filter medium to get rid of the build up.

Everything is back to normal and the tank is back to norm. Will post pics soon, but they are almost identical anyways.

Once again, feel free to post in my journal! In fact, I would love you doin that
