Default A new SW tank is born....

I figured this will be a good place to begin, especially for those looking at setting up a SW tank, Reef primarily.

We are beginning with a 29g AGA that has a AGA oak stand/canopy.

Currently the tank contains 130w PC:

Now we will be removing that lighting and installing a metal halide system, and fan system that we will get to later on in the thread(i gotta get the fans yet)

As for our main filteration, i have chosen to go easiest, a refugium:

This will take up the entire length of the back tank, will contain macro of Cheatomorphia(sp?) and have a small jalli light on the back for lighting, i may toss a couple small rubble pieces of LiveRock back there.

Next update to come soon........

Hahahaha, As you begin with your 29G, We will be taking ours down. My new 75G RR tank and stand arrives tomorrow and I am giving my wife the 55G to move her 29G into. So the 29G will most likely get QT duties.

We are currently adding SW stock tanks to the fishroom with metal halides suspended from ceiling and aqua c remora skimmers on each tank to propgate corals

You don't wanna see my QT lol just a green rubbermaid container in storage closet

Alright, got the fuge installed, drained the tank, moved it to where i want it. Now i ordered the fans from ebay, should be on their way here, so we can finish the canopy.

Heres the fuge, it did crack during shipment but above where the water level will be, so it'll be alright, i did put silicone on the inside and outside of the crack just in case.

Wrapped up the install of the fans and lighting, it's all up and running, wow can really feel the heat leaving the hood!

We could only get two fans to install not enough room for four like i hoped.

Nope just one that sits back in the refugium. I can see these freakin huge pods back there

Some recent shots. I cleaned most corals out except my two favorites. I had anticipated going to Drs. Foster & Smith frag convention in couple weeks but ends up i cannot get off for work gRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

So now i gotta restock on corals again. We ran into a slight problem with heat, fiance kept turning AC off in the house, had to explain in lamens terms why that was bad and how i know she shuts it off and turns it back on before i come home

I am debating about putting background on it or not, but i do like looking at the refugium and being able to see these honkin size pods back there!
