Wow.. its been a long time since i have posted here.. this place has changed big time.
Anyway, I saw some crayfish at the lfs and figured i would be intrested in trying them out.. I havent read too much into it but im thinking red or white(just not the boring brown) and something not larger than 3 inches would be suited. Anyone have any for sale? and how much for shipping? v8v 8v8 canada Also if anyone wants guppies i have mostly reds, yellows, oranges/various patterns.. 1.00 each |

I was thinking of some too, to find scraps in my Piraha tank
If a seller comes in for "mrmts" I want to buy some too As a word of caution, don't get them too big. I had some years ago and at night they will grab your fish. Believe it or not - they will clamp on to a fish very easily. The fish initially swim away with the crayfish still attached. After a while the fish will tire, and down to the bottom he'll go. Than he will be history They must be real little for safety Quote:

There is a nifty little dwarf crayfish, native to Louisiana, which only gets 2 inches maximum length. It's brown, but small, and usually available online. Google the word "Shinerscoop" to find one supplier I know.

I've seen some of your blue crayfish, but these are usually very expensive.
If the price is not too much, I might bite I tried looking up procambarus vioscai, but can't find much or even a picture. How is it exactly? Quote:

I'm not sure if he ships to Canada, I doubt it since they have something like a 2 week hold in customs, but freshwaterinverts.com is a great place for inverts of all types. I believe he's in the process of moving but should be done any day now. I bought my red crabs from him as well as a variety of shrimp. They were well packed using breather bags and his prices are very good.

bigdog-ct are you also from canda (my first guess would be that your from connecticut). The procambarus alleni i have is around 4 inches and has one small claw since he had a bad moult a few months ago. The procambarus vioscai is a dwarf species that remains at around 2". The only thing is its in the "plain" brown lobster color that mrmts was talking about. I would sell the blue cray (p alleni) for $20 and the vioscai for $10 if anyone is interested, dont think i could ship to canda, would be too pricey and might get held up at customs like Puffer Pita said.
