yeah, don't get either... sharks are notoriously hard to keep in a normal tank setting. ****The leopard shark can get 6 ft long! ****That means these fish should not be housed in anything less than 2000 gallons of water. ****Hound sharks are similar, but only get 3 feet long, making a six foot tank not an option... so unless you are extremely wealthy, and have about 3 decades of saltwater experience on your belt, I would stick to normal fish.

The sharks are for a client, who is wealthy and has plenty of experience, equipment, and whatever else he needs (besides, of course, the sharks themselves). Any information on locating the sharks would be appreciated.

hmmm once in a while Aquabid has them for auction. Vividaquariums.com also has several shark species, but unfortunately not the same species you've asked for. How big is this guys tank... I'd love to see some pics and stuff

Thanks for the info! I couldnt find the requested species, but he may be interested in some of the others. The tank(s) hasnt been completed, yet, but we plan at least a 1500 gallon bullet-nose. I might be able to get a few pics up as we start building. (there may be a finders fee on the smooth hound, but verification would be needed. keep me in mind)

thanks for the tip, but i already knew it was too late, i'm in florida, also, and it seems there is a state ban on shark sales, thus my reasons for having to search the net. might have found a local hobbyist with a smoothhound for sale, but thats about all i have found. Thanks, again, for you input, looks like i will keep searching

I was also thinking you might be able to call some local large public aquariums... they might have an extra they would be willing to part with or they might have aquired one from a previous owner or might know someone willing to give one up

there is not a state ban on them, it is illegal to kill the mothers to get the babies from them. so it is a catch 22. but call jawz and see maybe they can get it some where else. also reefs edge here in so., fl. has sharks too. try them also.
