Platies & Swordtails
With my guppy breeding on hold, I want to go back to breeding platies and swordtails! My LFS sells these fish at $5.99 (platies) and $6.99 (swords) USD a pop... which as you could imagine, burns a huge hole in my wallet. Not to mention the quality of their stock is never very good. Many fish are dead in their tanks.
I want a variety of colors! Solids are nice, but two-toned platies and swords are what I'm aiming for. Currently I have the following platies:
x2 Panda (f & m)
x1 Marigold (f)
x1 Blue Coral (f)
x1 Sunset Wag (f)
x1 White Mickey Mouse (f)
x1 Orange Tuxedo ('Halloween' Platy) (f)
The only male I own is one of the pandas, and he's pretty small. So getting a few males would be great, too. But I want to keep my male-to-female ratio around 2/3, at the most.
The platies and swords DO NOT have to be 'pure-bred'. I like mutts and mixes! I'm on the lookout for blue and black platies and/or swords.
THE FOLLOWING IMAGES ARE NOT MINE.
I found them on Google search, and they belong to their respectful owners.
Plumetails, high-fins, mickey mouse, tuxedo, twinbar, wags, juveniles, adults, fry, it doesn't matter to me. One thing I really am not interested in though, are lyretail swords. Male lyretail swords are infertile.
I don't want to end up paying too awfully much on shipping, but I'll pay what is necessary. Like a heat pack (since it's winter), and good packaging. Also a little extra for the trouble of shipping out to me.
Another thing I'd be interested in, would be ender's livebearers. Not your common endler's like these, but something more unique. I've seen red tiger endlers, blue tiger endlers, etc. Anything like that would be neat!
THE FOLLOWING PICTURES BELOW BELONG TO swampriveraquatics.com, THEY ARE NOT MINE.
To anyone I've spoken to about bettas and ramshorn snails, I'm still very interested in the two.

I've always like the yellowjacket type Endlers the best, but I can certainly see potential in the more standard types. If we can figure out how to extract those super-intense colors and transfer them to normal guppies... hoowhee.
As for swordtails, there are a number of super-rare, incredibly colored swords that you'll never see on the regular market, but can occasionally find on aquabid. If I were going to go into swordbreeding mode, I'd go with some of those and make my money back.

We own a Hobby Store and I sell fish there too. No I don't have any Angle fish but I would love to just don't have the room for them right now.
