My Wife and I are in PA right now for thanksgiving, they live in a very wooded rural area and were talking about how many salamanders they have in their woods. We went out for 10 minutes and turned over rocks and found 8 salamanders. They are woodland salamanders - Redbacked salamanders and Dusty Northern salamanders I think.
I wanted to gauge the interest in selling these critters to aquarium/terrariam owners. These aren't full blown aquatic salamenders here, but are more of a woodland moist enviornment type salamander. Is anyone intersted in them? Do you know a good place to sell these salamanders to folk who would take good care of them and really be interested in learning about them. They sure are PLENTIFUL outside in the woods. Literally probably 1 in 4 rocks we turned over had a salamander underneath. Their family might be able to sell some of them as kind of a part time job! I can take a picture of them if anyone is interested. This is a post of what they look like http://www.fish.state.pa.us/salamander.htm |
