So i have 2 ranchu goldfish. They got hemorrhagic septicemia. I tried treating them with every antibiotic i could get. I tried tetracycline, tetra lifeguard and triple sulfa. Those did not work. Luckily, we had a vet in our area that would treat them. They got 5 ceftazidime shots each. It turns out that the meds that you can get at the pet store, only stop the bacteria from reproducing and it does not kill the bacteria. Prescription antibiotics like ceftazidime, actually kill the bacteria.
