Hello all. This betta was marketed as a juvenile male at Petco. I hope it is what they actually say it is. Does anyone know how old the Imagitarium "Baby Boy" and "Baby Girl" bettas generally are when they reach the store shelves? I would say this fish is roughly 1.25-1.5 inches from snout to fin-tip, and I was told the colors would come in better as it matured. Can anyone help me determine the age? And possibly the sex?

Looks to a a female crowntail. Adult size is approximately 2.25 inches. Her red color might darken just a little as she get settled in the aquarium.

That's my suspicion as well, though I hope that we are both wrong. According to my research, this fish is probably around 3 months old. Is there a big difference between males and females at that early stage?
