Hi, I've been keeping a common goldfish for about a year now. He lives alone in a planted 10gal with a HOB filter.

He's had this single red dot on his side since I got him. Its about the size of a scale, and it doesn't seem to be hurting him, but I am still slightly concerned. Water Vertebrate Organism Fluid Fin Water Underwater Fin Fish supply Organism
What could it be?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Keep in mind that goldfish come in many colors. that red spot is just a tiny pinch of ohne of those colors.as they age they may change colors completely.

That's just a dot of color, he is okay.

Common goldfish can reach a foot in length and need at least a 30-gallon aquarium, preferably bigger. Goldfish are also a social species, so they prefer a friend. Add on 15+ gallons for every additional fish. A 10-gallon will not suffice.
